I used a Linksys G Router WRT54G version 2 which was eventually connected to a Comcast Cable Modem (Arris Model 7M502G). The software is installed on a IBM laptop. I have a IBM X22 laptop which is not wireless but I utilized a Wireless-G Notebook Adapter with Speed Booster with the software installed to talk to the WRT54G.
I was able to connect to the router in two different situations, using WEP and WPA, but the problem is i get an error stating that I am able to connect to the router, but unable to access the internet.
The firmware was updated on the router. Also drivers were updated on the laptop which has the Wireless G notebook adapter.
I called Comcast Cable and was told that I may need to use a WAG54G version 2 or ADSL version 2 router which is compatible with the ARRIS modem.
