The speed of wireless is solely dependent on the wireless protocol type used (i.e, 802.11a/b/g, 802.11n, etc.) the hardware manufacturer must adhere to the speeds indicated in the protocols. If you have the choice, purchase all wireless cards from the same manufacturer as the wireless router which will ensure ultimate compatibility and speeds.
