Currently I am using cingular wireless for my cell phone, but my reception downstairs in my house is poor. I was wondering if a cell phone booster antenna will really improve my reception?
If you think about it, if they worked the phone manufacturers would have included that feature in the phone you already own, to try and make you buy their phone over the competitions.
Also if you have a tin roof or stucco walls, the only thing you can do is go outside, since these act as a barrier to the signal.
no – you need a new phone or get used to it not working in your basement. Depending on where you live, a different carrier might have a stronger signal to work in your basement. Cellular signals are usually not strong enough to travel through concrete.
this was just on a TV show no that don’t work and can even harm some brands of phone If you are trying to get better reception with an internal antenna hold the phone only by the sides do not touch the back I got this right from the manufacturer
I tried a booster antenna a few months ago. At first it worked very well. Then it started to slide around in the phone and just was more of a hassle. Personally, I think they are a waste of money!
Those crappy ones that is like a sticker that attaches to your battery or whatnot don’t work.
But if you were really serious about boosting your reception, they do sell repeaters that attach to the outside of your house and basically pick up and repeat cell signals.
Many companies have been known to install these systems in their offices cause cell signals are poor in their building and can cost them valuable business.
