So my wireless router is downstairs in my office. It is a 300N-XR and was £70 so must be ok. However when I am on my laptop upstairs signal is weak and websites are very slow at loading up. Sometimes I lose all connection and have to just go back downstairs. I was wondering if a wireless booster would help this problem? (Bearing in mind my router is downstairs and I would need the booster upstairs). Also what boosters are good and what should I buy?

They definitely work as long as they are compatible with your existing wireless router. You can have the booster located halfway between the router and your laptop upstairs. This should in theory boost the signal. I have used the netgear ones as well as the Dlink one so all you need to find is one that is compatible with the 300n-xr.
