Wireless Booster Customer Reviews Here
I have a room mate that said they had one at one point and he said it didn’t do anything for a better connection. Suggestions?

Depends if your talking about cell phone wireless or from a wireless router, if it’s for a cell phone or card I have used one and it really does a great job. i purchased it from here,

A wireless repeater is generally a better option than an amplified antenna booster, except it is not mobile – it is intended for home use. There is no ethernet cable runnig between the router and the repeater, so you can position it where you need it in your home – equidistant from router and wifi clients or poor coverage area.

You can buy a store bought repeater but I have never tried. Most people “build” their own for 802.11g networks. They get a Linksys WRT54GL (must be GL) and flash it with DD-WRT firmware and setup a repeater bridge using the web interface.

You can also get a few 802.11n routers that can be flashed with DD-WRT to function this way as well.
